What Causes Vertigo?

Vertigo is not a standalone disease, but a clinical symptom signaling a disruption in the body's internal balance-tracking systems. Most cases are caused by inner ear problems.

The most common type, **Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)**, occurs when tiny calcium carbonate crystals (otoconia) detach from their normal place in the utricle and migrate into one of the fluid-filled semicircular canals.

When you tilt or move your head, these displaced crystals roll inside the canal fluid, sending false motion signals to the brain that conflict with what your eyes actually see. This creates the illusion of violent spinning. Re-positioning maneuvers physically roll these crystals back into place.

Advanced Diagnostic Paths

  • 1

    Epley Head Maneuver (Crystal Reset)

A sequence of guided, precise head tilts performed by Dr. Chetna to roll the displaced semicircular crystals safely back to the utricle chamber.

  • 2

    Vestibular Rehabilitation (VRT)

Personalized neurological balance mapping and visual adaptation exercises designed to train the brain to cope with false balance signals.

  • 3

    Clinical Trigger Mapping

Physical triggers, balance boards, and eye-tracking diagnostics used to isolate the specific semicircular canal responsible for the spinning.

Stability Science

Clinical Vertigo Assessments & Maneuvers

Guided Head Maneuvers

Uses gravity to roll the semicircular calcium crystals back. Toggling the Epley or Semont maneuver provides up to 90% instant relief from positional vertigo.

Vestibular Rehabilitation

Custom-designed balance exercises and gaze-stabilization drills aimed at training the brain's vestibular-ocular reflexes to overcome persistent dizziness.

Canalolithiasis Mapping

Traces nystagmus eye movements under rapid head transitions (Dix-Hallpike trigger) to pinpoint the exact inner ear semicircular canal affected.

Vertigo Treatment FAQs

How long does vertigo recovery take?

For BPPV (displaced inner ear crystals), guided repositioning maneuvers like the Epley maneuver can provide 80% to 90% instant relief in just 1 to 2 sessions. Secondary vestibular exercises may be continued for 1 to 2 weeks to stabilize balance completely.

Are head maneuvers safe to perform?

Repositioning head maneuvers are highly safe when performed by trained clinical professionals under medical supervision. We map your specific neck mobility, heart rates, and crystal trigger canal beforehand to ensure absolute safety.

Can vertigo return after being cured?

Yes, recurrences are possible over months or years if crystals shift again due to minor head impacts, sleeping angles, or calcium level drops. In such cases, a simple diagnostic crystal reset inside our clinic will instantly restore absolute stability.
